Migros bank (or whoever is managing the card) is also getting access to an interest free loan from all of us fans. It would be reasonable to think that there will be at least 10.000 of these cards in circulation. Most people would probably charge it up with say 50 CHF to avoid the double queuing at the ground, effectively providing Migros with a 500k credit line. How is that a good thing for the fans?

Another aspect of the new CashCard is privacy. We will already be constantly filmed by CCTV in the ground, now the club (and police?) will also know exactly what quantities of alcohol each of us buy. Can we be sure this information is not used against us? Is it managed in a way compliant with data protection? Would police be able to ask the club for the list if there was trouble in the ground?

Even I'm not a friend of the CashCard-System as it ist announce by now, I don't think that this statement ist true. http://www.migros.ch/de/services/geschenkkarte/infos.html. I guess the IT-System is not even able to handle the data.

A single fan does not really lose money by charging the card - in contrary: it's simply convenient (in my opinion) and transaction can be done much more efficient. And do you really care about the fact that Migros gets a small free credit then? (It will be even much lower than 500k as money is also spent during the match. In the time span between two matches, they may not nearly have 500k available.)

Portable card readers? Should not be too big a problem nowadays.

You have provided a perfectly rational alternative way of looking at the issue.
However, we revel in challenging the authority as an underdog, we are inherently suspicious when someone tells us a change is for our own good and we are by default skeptical to FCLs organizational competence.
We often take the opposite opinion to general consensus just for the hell of it.
We are JCBT.

I do like that attitude a lot as long as stays constructive and does not become childish and irrational (which is not the case in my opinion - just to be clear).

Yes. We are very much looking forward to be proven wrong when the spectacularly successful introduction of cashcards makes us wonder why we ever thought cash payments would be a good idea.
To put this into perspective a plastic pitch like XaMaX or the Bern Youth Team would be much, much worse than paying with out m-cumulus cards.
Also cards would also make it very easy to offer us every 10th beer for free
